Notes from IRX 2019 by the BetterCommerce team
For the 3rd year running, BetterCommerce decided to exhibit at the Internet Retailing Expo. Every year the show promises to be packed full of interesting speakers and great exhibitors. This year proved to be no different!
Our attendance was a great success. Over 5,000 people came through the IRX doors over the two days, to see 150+ exhibitors or to attend one of the 100+ speakers and workshops – Three of which were our very own. Throughout the 2 days we welcomed literally hundreds of people onto our stand and our workshop and theatre sessions. We demonstrated how our Customer 360 feature worked live on the stand, which was of interest to retailers trying to better understand how their customers interacted with their business.
All five of our speakers in their three presentations were a great hit! The first day saw Julian Holt, Chief Technology Officer of The Fragrance Shop, present his talk on how a customer centric approach has been a key contributor to helping them become a leading multichannel retailer. Over 70 of you enjoyed the insights that Julian delved into!
Later that afternoon, Tom Martin, Big Data Evangelist, and his partner in crime Brie Read, CEO and founder of Snag tights, presented their workshop on the practical uses of an email marketing list and how big data could be its downfall. Once again, they drew a sizable crowd to their theatre.
And last, but certainly not least, Andrew and Zana Busby from Retail Reflections, presented their very in-depth talk on the psychology of consumers. Their main points focusing on the emotional and potential sensory uses that could be applied to the customer journey.
Back on our stand, there was a lot of interest in our B2B service, as people sought assistance to deliver their eCommerce strategies. We all enjoyed welcoming familiar faces and new businesses to our stand over a very busy couple of days.
